כמדי שנה בחודש דצמבר מתפרסם העדכון של (MeSH (Medical Subject Headings, התזאורוס של מאגר המידע הרפואי מדליין/פאבמד. העדכון משקף בין היתר את ההתפתחות והשינויים בתחום הביו רפואי, כפי שהם באים לידי ביטוי בספרות הרפואית המכוסה על ידי מדליין, הכוללת 5400 עיתונים בתחום.
MeSH מתעדכן כאמור מדי שנה בחודש דצמבר, והעדכון משקף את השינויים והחידושים בתחומים אותם הוא מכסה. כך למשל בשנת 2015 נכנס ל - MeSH המונח Diet, Paleolithic ובאופן די מפתיע נכנס המונח Diet, Vegan רק בעדכון של 2016. קודם לכן נכלל המושג טבעונות תחת הגדרה רחבה של צמחונות.
